Men In This Town Street Style
Sometimes when I'm lacking inspiration, looking through street style can help. I've picked out some of my favourites looks inside Men In This Town
Street style is one of my favourite things to look at, specifically speaking, men’s street style. I like seeing other people’s sense of style and how they experiment with things. Whether that's a jacket, jeans or shirt, seeing something being worn in an unorthodox fashion and inventive way is good inspiration for future outfits. When I dress myself I like to find that happy medium between wearing things I feel comfortable in and maybe taking one step to the right and trying something new. When looking at street style, I like people who perhaps take more than one step and create something completely new and unexpected.
Men In This Town hosts a collection of images taken by Giuseppe Santamaria of well dressed men from various cities across the world from London to Sydney. I’ve picked out a few of my favourite images in the book.
There's an image of MR PORTER's US editor Dan Rookwood, and what I like about his look are the pops of colour and print on his umbrella and tie, as well as
his leather messenger bag and monk strap shoes. I feel they make his look stand out amongst average business outfits. His double-breasted overcoat is pretty special as well.
“All black is simple. All back is easy” Even though this is true, having a simple and easy look isn’t bad. Whenever I lack time or struggling to choose on what to wear, skinny black jeans and tee is the way to go. I like how this guy has made all black look completely new, experimenting with long length and layering.
Some guys makes biking look effortlessly cool. Something I want to buy soon is a wide brimmed trilby, so I’ve definitely got trilby hat envy. Years ago, all I used to wear on my feet were converse, I might have to return to this seeing how good they look.
