My blue denim challenge at Gunwharf Quays
Gunwharf Quays are looking ahead to spring with their new campaign ‘blue denim’. Blue is one of the big trends for spring summer this year, so Gunwharf are celebrating this by focusing on how to wear blue.
Gunwharf Quays kindly invited me down last weekend to go and see what they had to offer and challenged me to buy a denim piece that I could incorporate into an outfit using one of their vouchers. Before we started shopping, I went for lunch at La Tasca, a Spanish tapas bar, one of many restaurants they have at the outlet. I’ve been wanting to go for a while now so thought this was a great time to go. Hollie and I were eating out later in the evening so thought we would not order too much, but when we saw the menu we couldn’t help ourselves! We ordered cheesy rustic bread, battered white fish, spicy chicken wings, chicken and chorizo paella, baby ribs and creamy spinach potatoes. All of it was really good and I’d specially recommend the paella!
We then headed off shopping and started looking around for blue denim pieces they had. Levis had plenty of things in their store and the guys were very helpful in showing us some pieces. There was a really nice denim shirt, however I had one quite similar already in my wardrobe and I wanted to find something I hadn’t tried before, meaning I didn’t opt to buy some Levis jeans either.
Before heading into the next store I wanted to go in, Hollie was drawn to the Ted Baker store and surprisingly only left with one cream purse. Then we went into Fred Perry where I found a cool printed long sleeve shirt (not denim) but they only had it in x-small, probably one of the only downside to shopping outlets, limited sizes.
I knew if there was going to be a place where I could find some amazing denim it would be in All Saints. By this time, I knew that I wanted to purchase a denim jacket for spring. Although I couldn’t find one on the shop floor, when I described what I was looking for to the staff, they were more than helpful and were able to bring out exactly what I was looking for from the back. I quickly tried it on and it was such a good fit, even Hollie was complimentary, meaning that I had found my perfect piece of denim. I also bought two shirts
that I’m looking forward to styling up for future outfit posts and a simple flecked t-shirt for casual wear.
Gunwharf Quays was a successful shopping trip for both Hollie and myself and I really enjoyed the challenge of finding a perfect piece of blue denim. They’ve got plenty to offer at the minute and if anyone’s looking to update their wardrobe for spring then Gunwharf Quays are definitely worth a visit. Who else is incorporating blue into their outfit this season?
