Priding themselves on creating high quality garments at an affordable price, the idea behind OPEN is being able to provide the staple items for your wardrobe. I’m a basics guy and always look for the cut of the garment and how it fits, rather than the design or print itself, so with OPEN delivering clean branding and packaging, I welcome this new store and online retailer with ‘open’ arms – I really didn’t mean this rather awful pun.
So onto the outfit I created, I put together a smart look with a casual twist. I’m a big fan of a simple white shirt. This OPEN East shirt fits really well and I was pretty impressed with the quality of the shirt as well, with the material not being too thin. I’ve worn this shirt many times since shooting this outfit post! I felt that a Barking Mac would compliment this shirt nicely, with both having sharp collars, making it look very smart to the eye. As a little tip, when the weather is really cold, layer up your shirt with a simple knitted jumper and it will not make your outfit any less smart if that’s the direction you want your outfit to go in.
On my legs I’m wearing Odell skinny jeans that are not as skinny as I normally wear, but have a loose relaxed feel to them when you want a more comfortable look and still reasonably tapered. I’ve always been one for ultra skinny jeans, but these are a nice alternative to wear when you just want to be comfy in what you’re wearing.
Probably not the most appropriate footwear during Winter, but comfortable nonetheless. My street addition to this rather smart look is a pair of South Park slip-ons. They are really easy to match with and unlike many slip-ons, feel like they will last a long time, whereas with others the heel of the shoe tends to lose its shape. Finishing work and you want to relax on the journey back? Put a pair of slip-ons in your bag.
If you haven’t guessed from this post, or all my other outfit posts, then you will not be surprised to hear that my favourite ‘colour’ is black. So if you’re ever unsure on what to wear then black is my go-to option.
