The sand dunes of Vietnam
Vietnam has offered up so much these past few weeks, but one of my favourite moments has to be the sand dunes in Mui Ne
On my travels around South East Asia I’ve been fortunate enough to visit some great places and visit amazing landscapes. Along the coast of Vietnam, you’ll find the sand dunes of Mui Ne, just a few hours north of Ho Chi Minh.
It’s not often you get the chance to see sand dunes outside of a desert, but Vietnam is one of the few places you can. An early 3:30am alarm meant I was going to see the dunes at sunrise. Arriving in true adventure style (aka old school jeep and wearing a hat that has been likened to Indiana Jones), I was excited to see the sand dunes, albeit a little tired and weary eyed.
Being on the sand before the sun had risen, I was not able to capture the scale of the sand dunes, and at this point I was too focused at reaching a good spot to catch the sunrise. With it being the early morning, the wind from the night before meant the sand grooves were untouched - there was something extra visually pleasing about this! Peaceful and mind blowing, the sunrise was crazy and the sand dunes made for an anything but normal backdrop for photos.
