Formal and Relaxed
I've been converted from a black skinny jeans Monday-to-Friday guy
There aren’t many days when I won’t be wearing skinny jeans or formal trousers when I leave the house. I’m not against a regular fit, but I feel as if sometimes they just bury me and simply doesn’t suit me. I’ve put together a look that I think works pretty well and allows me to wear some looser fitting clothing. Like this outfit post, it’s something that can be worn for both in the office and days out.
The grey cotton trousers are from ASOS, somewhere I don’t shop enough. I think it’s down to the fact they have so much on their store, it means that it’s more than a five-minute scroll. As you can see these are much looser than a pair of skinny or formal trousers and create a much wider-leg look. I thought it was only right to balance this out with a looser fitting shirt as well, meaning I wore this pastel green short-sleeved shirt from Levis.
I bought this shirt last year in one of their Hong Kong stores and it’s something quite different for me. Shirts with a more oversized fit go well with trousers such as this, creating an outfit that is balanced. If I was to wear this shirt with skinny jeans I think the look would be completely top heavy.
Then I chose my favourite shoes that I own, my Dr.Martens studded brogues. There’s something about them which I think makes them a shoe I’ll be wearing for years to come.
Could 2023 be the ultimate year of sustainability for fashion? Probably not, but there are some positive things happening if you look for them.
